In November 1942, Winston Churchill secretly visited Gibraltar during Operation Torch — the Allied invasion of North Africa. As Churchill orchestrated the operation, intelligence reports surfaced of a double agent. Your mission is simple: uncover this traitor.

How do I start a treasure hunt? What happens once I book?
Once you purchase a game, you'll receive a launch email containing a website link, your starting location, and an activation code. When you're ready to begin, simply head to the starting point and enter your code to start the adventure. Note: once you insert the activation code you have 24 hours to complete the hunt.
Do I need to book a specific start time?
No. You can start your game at any time within the operating hours. The experience is fully self-guided and flexible. Note: once you insert the activation code you have 24 hours to complete the hunt.
What do I need to play?
All you need is your group of 2–6, one phone with internet access, and a sense of adventure. Everything else will be provided through the game.
Are the games timed?
No. There are no countdown timers or leaderboards. The aim is to enjoy the adventure, explore Gibraltar, and immerse yourself in the experience — not rush from clue to clue.
Can I buy a treasure hunt as a gift?
Yes! Simply purchase the game and forward the launch email you receive to the lucky recipient — they'll have everything they need to begin their adventure. It's the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys exploring, solving puzzles, and discovering new places.
Is it available in different languages?
Currently only available in English, but we are working on a Spanish version.

The Experience

What if we get stuck on a puzzle?
Don't worry — HQ has your back. Each puzzle comes with up to 3 hints to help guide you in the right direction. If you're still stuck, you'll also have the option to reveal the final answer and continue the adventure. The goal is to enjoy the experience, not get frustrated.
Can we pause during the game?
Absolutely. You're free to pause the adventure at any point to enjoy food, drinks, or simply take in the surroundings before continuing.
Do I need to download an app?
No! Our treasure hunts run directly through your web browser — no app download, installation, or updates required. Just open the link, enter your activation code, and you're ready to begin.
What happens if it's raining?
If you have started the game you can pause it and resume when the rain stops. Depending on the hunt, the final part is indoors. If you haven't started yet, simply choose a different day.
Will we see Gibraltar's famous landmarks?
Yes! Each treasure hunt is carefully designed to include a mix of iconic landmarks and hidden gems. Our routes are created by locals with a passion for Gibraltar — you'll visit must-see sights while uncovering lesser-known locations loved by locals.
Is every treasure hunt the same?
No! Each adventure has its own unique route, locations, and storyline — inspired by real events from Gibraltar's history. We also avoid repeating puzzles, ensuring a fresh experience every time.
Why choose a self-guided treasure hunt over a traditional walking tour?
Our adventures let you explore at your own pace with your own group while solving puzzles. They fit easily around other activities like a Rock Tour or Dolphin Safari. At just £20 per group, it's also one of the most affordable group activities in Gibraltar.

Are the games wheelchair accessible?
The Operation Torch treasure hunt is suitable for wheelchair users. One challenge may require a team member to enter a small space not accessible by wheelchair — another team member can complete this section. A nearby public lift provides a step-free alternative for the small number of steps on the route. Please get in touch if you have specific requirements.
Is the game suitable for tourists?
Yes — our adventures are designed for both locals and visitors, and are a fun way to discover Gibraltar's landmarks, hidden corners, and local history.
Can children take part? Is it suitable for families?
Children can join the treasure hunts and be an important part of the team. Younger children may need adult support for some puzzles, while teenagers can complete most of the hunt independently. Buggies can also be taken along the whole route.
Is the treasure hunt suitable for cruise passengers?
Absolutely! The starting location for Operation Torch: A Churchill Mystery is just a 15-minute walk from the cruise terminal. With start times between 9am and 9pm and a 24-hour window once activated, there's plenty of flexibility to explore along the way.
How much walking is involved?
Operation Torch: A Churchill Mystery covers approximately 3km through Gibraltar town on mostly flat terrain. The route is not physically demanding — you'll be stopping frequently for puzzles and points of interest.

Planning Your Visit

What days and times are the games available?
Our games are available 7 days a week, between 9:00am and 9:00pm.
How long do the games take?
Most experiences take between 1 and 1.5 hours to complete. Please check the description of each individual game for more detailed timings.
When is the best time to do the treasure hunt?
For Operation Torch: A Churchill Mystery, we recommend a weekday between 9am and 3pm. During summer, starting before lunchtime lets you enjoy the cooler part of the day. All our hunts are fully flexible, so you can start whenever suits your plans.
How many people can play?
We recommend groups of 2–6 players for the best experience. If you are more than 6, we recommend splitting into smaller groups — each group should purchase their own game to receive an individual activation code.
Do I need internet access?
Yes. At least one player will need a phone with an internet connection in order to receive clues, communicate with HQ, and progress through the game.
What should I wear?
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. During warmer weather, bring a bottle of water, sunscreen, and a hat or cap. The hunts are not physically demanding, so no special clothing or equipment is needed.
Are there food and drink stops along the route?
Yes! Operation Torch: A Churchill Mystery starts and finishes in the heart of town, surrounded by cafés, bars, and restaurants. The game can be paused at any time. Afterwards, we recommend the five-minute walk to Queensway Marina for waterside dining.
Is there a time limit after purchasing?
There is no time limit on when you need to start. You can purchase today and play whenever it suits you. Once you activate the game by entering your access code, you will have 24 hours to complete the treasure hunt.
